25hours Hotel „Das Tour“ Düsseldorf

Travelling requires comfortable accommodation

The 19-storey « Das Tour » hotel from the 25hours hotel group was built on a former railway station site in the Derendorf district of Düsseldorf. The centrally located hotel at the southern tip of the new multifunctional « Quartier Central » represents the perfect combination of living, working and leisure.

The modern hotel, which has been built on a 360,000 square metre site, offers everything that modern nomads value in accommodation today. An inviting lobby with café, seminar rooms and comfortable accommodation. The crowning glory is a wellness and fitness area as well as « The Paris Club » ensemble with restaurant and bar on two floors, which offers an impressive view over Düsseldorf thanks to its generous glass fronts.

Changing facade in shades of white, silver and gold
The modern character of the new building is also reflected in the building envelope. The architects opted for a facade cladding made of around 5,200 m² of Alucobond composite panels. The different shades create an interesting interplay of colours as the daylight changes. The gold-coloured, slanted reveals and lintels give the window openings an exciting depth.

A facade that prioritises light
Thanks to the solar shading integrated into the glass elements, it was possible to avoid visible solar shading elements, which emphasises the continuous joint pattern on all sides of the hotel. The SYSTEA ALWI-S profile system ensures a secure hold. By fixing the panels on four sides at the level of the substructure, the cascade drainage of the internal window sills could be optimally solved and the thermal bridges optimised at the same time. By reducing the substructure axes by 50 per cent, sufficient space was left for the drainage pipes.
