Residential complex Rebenacker
Energy-efficient refurbishment at the highest level
The housing cooperation Hamburger Wohnen eG manages over 5,100 apartment units across Hamburg. In addition to new construction, Hamburger Wohnen puts great emphasis on the maintenance and modernization of existing buildings.
This commitment can be seen in Hamburg-Eidelstedt. Over the past three years, the Rebenacker residential complex with a total of 151 apartments has been extensively modernized.
The architectural firm Henninger was commissioned with the energy-efficient refurbishment of the four buildings in three construction phases. The modernization included the replacement of the windows and balcony parapets, the new construction/reconstruction of the roofs and the energy and fire protection upgrading of the existing insulation of the approx. 10,000 m² building façade.
Instead of the aging rendered composite thermal insulation façade, the housing cooperative opted for an energy-efficient, rear-ventilated ETICS façade. The existing façade was upgraded with a 180 mm thermal insulation in WGL 032. The 1,500 m² of non-combustible aluminum composite panels (Alucobond A2) measuring approx. 2,500 x 375 mm were visibly riveted in ¼ bond. SYSTEA calculated the statics to securely fasten the façade panels. Schöck Isolink® thermal anchors were used to secure the rear-ventilated façade without thermal bridges. Thanks to the glass fiber composite material, they have a very low thermal conductivity. A sash adapter, which is attached to the connection thread of the façade anchor, holds all vertical profiles.
By combining the Schöck Isolink® thermal anchors with SYSTEA profile systems, the cladding could be installed visibly.
This complete refurbishment is an investment into the future. The Rebenacker residential complex remains economically viable in the long term and has increased in value both inside and out, which is reflected in a high level of living comfort for the tenants.
