Simpson Strong-Tie completes acquisition of ETANCO Group

April 11, 2022: Simpson Strong-Tie, a leading provider of innovative connectors for wood structures and structural timber solutions, announced the successful completion of its acquisition of ETANCO Group, a leading developer and manufacturer of fastening solutions for the European building construction market – which includes Henstedt-Ulzburg, Germany-based Systea GmbH. “ETANCO is a very successful and profitable company with a 70-year history and a well-established brand and market position,” said Karen Colonias, chief executive officer of Simpson Strong-Tie. “We believe their extensive and complementary product offering will strengthen our overall product portfolio in Europe, allowing us to provide even greater value to our customers. ”

Like ETANCO Group, Simpson Strong-Tie has a long history of providing exceptional products and services. Both companies were founded in the 1950s and are steeped in strong values.
“ETANCO and Simpson have very similar DNA, as we have both built our businesses on high-quality products and excellent customer service. Together, we can expand as well as optimize our European presence while introducing new products to our shared customer base,” said Ronan Lebraut, president of ETANCO Group.
With ETANCO Group’s strong market and brand position, the acquisition will enable a significantly expanded product portfolio and increased presence in existing markets. It will extend the reach of sales channels in Europe and enhance building envelope solutions for industrial and commercial construction.

There will be no changes in the near term for ETANCO Group and Simpson Strong-Tie Europe in terms of business, product lines, production, brands or employees. Simpson Strong-Tie and ETANCO Group management teams are working together to formulate the joint strategy for the future and ensure seamless operations for customers.

“Our goal is to bring the companies together in a way that leverages our respective strengths in the marketplace and in customer service,” said Michael Andersen, vice president of European operations for Simpson Strong-Tie. “Both ETANCO Group and Simpson Strong-Tie customers can expect the same high level of quality products and service they have received in the past.”
“We look forward to welcoming ETANCO Group employees to Simpson Strong-Tie and growing the business together,” Colonias added.
