ETANCO® takes over SYSTEA

Henstedt-Ulzburg, March 2 2021 – The French ETANCO group of companies has acquired Systea Pohl GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of the German POHL Group, effective January 1 2021.

SYSTEA, based in Henstedt-Ulzburg near Hamburg, was founded in 1974 and currently employs 45 people. The company is a leading supplier of stainless steel and aluminum substructures for ventilated curtain walls and sells its systems and products worldwide.

The ETANCO Group was founded in 1952, develops, and produces high-quality fastening systems for the complete building envelope in five market segments. With the acquisition, the Group is expanding its facade technology business area, with which it is already successfully active with facade anchors, insulation anchors, steel anchors, injection anchors, aluminum substructure systems and panel anchors for curtain-type rear-ventilated facades.

Global growth to be strengthened
Ronan Lebraut, President of ETANCO Group: “SYSTEA’s products and systems are the ideal complement to our portfolio in the field of facade technology. In the ventilated curtain wall segment, both brands are globally represented, but have only a few overlaps in their geographical sales focus. An ideal prerequisite for our further global growth in this segment.”

“We are happy to have found a new owner for SYSTEA in ETANCO,” said Heinrich R. Pohl, owner of the Cologne-based POHL Group. “POHL Group looks back on many commercially successful years with SYSTEA and we are pleased to see SYSTEA’s further growth secured with this acquisition.”

SYSTEA remains independent
SYSTEA will continue to operate as an independent company. Product development, technical consulting and production will continue to be based at the Henstedt-Ulzburg site in order to expand its global position in the field of façade technology together with the ETANCO teams.

“SYSTEA’s substructure systems and ETANCO’s fastening solutions complement each other perfectly. As a result, we can offer our customers a significantly expanded range of products from a single source in the growing global market for ventilated curtain walling,” explains Andreas Reinhardt, Managing Director of Systea Pohl GmbH. “The takeover has no effect on the usual personal support of our customers by the field and office staff. In the future, facade specialists all over the world will continue to be able to rely on the well-known SYSTEA team,” says Reinhardt.
